

Dave Ruff is one of the highly respected names in the fitness industry. Dave has over 30 years of experience and has worked with clubs, trainers and clients all over the country.
In addition to Ruff Fitness, Dave is the Director of Training and Development for ProFIT, Director of Cycling for NSPA and a consultant for The Club and Spa Synergy Group.
Dave has been featured in full page ads for LifeFitness, quoted in national publications and on the faculty of Club Success magazine.
A life long competitive athlete, Dave has completed 5 JFK 50-mile ultras, over 25 marathons and is currently one of the top Xterra age group triathletes in the nation.


Sue Fahey was born and raised in Souderton, PA. Sue has been a competitive multi-sport athlete since 1977. Sue is certified through NSPA (National Strength Professionals Association) as a Personal Trainer.
A graduate of Shippensburg University, Sue was a standout on the Varsity Lacrosse team all four years. Sue has competed in numerous races including the grueling Catoctin 50K Ultra Trail Marathon, Freedom Run's Marathon, several half-marathons, 5 and 10K's as well as sprint tri's.
Sue is very involved in youth sports and for the past 5 years has coached several lacrosse teams (at the same time!).
An accomplished trainer, Sue has helped a wide range of clients achieve their goals - from the older client with physical limitations to the competitive athlete!

Chookie Karlen, a native of Beaver Falls, PA, moved to Hagerstown in 1992. Chookie’s background includes a B.S. degree in Psychology and teaching from West Virginia University, as well as, experience as a teacher in Shepherdstown W.V. Her teaching background along with her personal training certification through NSPA is the ideal mix for helping clients achieve their goals!
Chookie has been a life long competitive athlete. She is currently a member of the USTA, playing women’s 4.0 tennis on teams in MD and PA. Her PA team won the regions and advanced to the nationals in October 2009! She competes in local races and ran her first marathon at the age of 41 – the tough Freedom Run’s Marathon.
Chookie has been actively involved in youth sports and has coached girl’s basketball since 2007.
